We’re pleased to announce two additions to our Maryland staff starting January 1st. Barbara Linke is joining us as a fulltime community tennis coordinator with primary responsibility for Junior Team Tennis. Michael Vann from Goucher College named 2011 USTA/ITA Mid-Atlantic Campus & Community Outreach winner

UMD Tennis Player John Collins Staying Positive

University of Maryland tennis player John Collins is optimistic about the men’s tennis team despite an unfortunate situation. Effective July 12, 2012 the men’s tennis program at Maryland’s flagship university will be cut, along with seven other varsity sports to alleviate the athletic department’s multi-million dollar budget deficit. Since university president Wallace Loh finalized the decision on Nov. 21, teams and athletes have had time to soak in the situation. Read More

4 TIER TENNIS OR 4TT in 2012!

Mid-Atlantic Section will be switching its tri-level leagues to quad level in 2012, in order for our winning teams to be able to advance to the BNP Paribas Open Quad Level Championships in 2013. However, our Section will call these leagues 4 Tier Tennis, or 4TT, and not use the name Quad-Level. Read More

2011 Maryland Combo District Championships

Thank you and congratulations to all the teams who competed at the 2011 Maryland Combo District Championships. With 54 teams and cold, rainy weather to contend with, everyone remained cooperative and flexible while we went indoors to finish out the Saturday matches and the Sunday finals. Maryland Teams compete at JTT Sectional Championships

JTT Sectionals – Mary Washington University, Fredericksburg, VA – Aug. 12-14 2011 Despite the rainy weather, the JTT Sectional tournament at Mary Washington University in Fredericksburg, VA was completed the afternoon of Aug. 14.
