The Maryland District encompasses the entire state and is one of the four Districts which make up the USTA/Mid-Atlantic Section (MAS). The Maryland Tennis office offers a professional staff and volunteers to promote and develop the game of tennis in your community. We have knowledgeable and reliable staff people that can assist you in answering any questions you may have. USTA Maryland District By laws Amendments Adopted

At its annual business meeting on Saturday, November 1, the USTA Maryland District Board of Directors and Executive Committee voted in favor of adopting proposed amendments to the association’s by laws. The new by laws can be found by clicking on About Us and By laws.

Tight, friendly competition lead to 8 teams capturing the USTA Maryland Combo District Championships. The weather finally turned to a fall windy day with a touch of winter in the early a.m. hours. The players took the weather challenges in stride and made the most of a beautiful fall weekend, October 17-19 at Truxtun Park, in Annapolis.

Maryland Junior Team Tennis Teams compete at 2008 Sectionals
08/13/2008

Six teams from Maryland traveled to Mary Washington University competing at the Mid-Atlantic Sectional Championships over the August 9 and 10 weekend. There were 2 teams each in the 18-under, 14-under and 12-under divisions. The winning team from 14’s and 18’s advances to nationals in October.

2008 MARYLAND JUNIOR TEAM TENNIS STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS
07/14/2008

Nearly 150 kids came out to compete in the USTA/Maryland Junior Team Tennis (JTT) State Championship, July 11-12 at UMBC. Full-court players competed in three co-ed age divisions: 12 and under, 14 and under, and 18 and under. Kids 8 and under and 10 and under also kicked off Maryland’s first-ever QuickStart Tennis competition, playing on 36’ and 60’ courts with foam and low compression balls.

Boswell Brings Home Queens' Cup to U.S. Damascus Resident Earns Two Victories
10/29/2008

TURKEY—Mary Boswell has discovered the foundation of youth. The 76-year-old Damascus, MD, resident stays young because of tennis. That spring in her step gave her American teammates what they needed. They needed two wins. And she got them two wins. Boswell defeated Canada’s Muffie Grieve 6-2, 6-1, at No. 1 singles and then teamed with Nancy Reed (Winter Park, FL) to down Grieve and Hugette Fontaine 6-3, 6-1, to take the Queen's Cup 2-1.
