Eight teams from the USTA/Maryland have advanced to the USTA/Mid-Atlantic Sectional championship in Newport News, Virginia, September 9-11, 2011. The following senior league teams took home the Maryland District title this year during the USTA/Maryland District Championships held August 19-21 in Frederick, Maryland:
3.0 Men - Anne Arundel (Captain Bill Killham)
3.5 Men - Anne Arundel (Captain Thomas Schneider)
4.0 Men - Howard (Captain Tom McCabe)
4.5 Men - Anne Arundel (Captain Bennett Sweren)
3.0 Women - Montgomery (Captain Mary Hoferek)
3.5 Women - Baltimore (Captain Sandy Fastie)
4.0 Women - Anne Arundel (Joan Williams)
4.5 Women - Forty West (Captain Jennie Murduck)

This year, there were approximately 525 players comprising 33 teams competing at the district championships. The teams, which represent 8 counties throughout the state, finished at the top of their local leagues before advancing to last weekend's championships.
