Jackson Tsai – a volunteer coach for the Green Spring Racquet Club’s Junior Team Tennis (JTT) Program is our Volunteer of the Month for November.
Jackson has been instrumental in the success of JTT at the Green Spring Racquet Club. As a parent volunteer, Jackson works tirelessly in organizing group practices and match play every week in the club or at local high schools. He helped teams of every age group, advanced and intermediate, to advance to JTT competition at the local, state and section levels.
This year, many teams advanced to the section championship and two teams to the national championship. Through his guidance and patience the children have learned the rewards of individual competition. Through his leadership and generosity he acts as a role model to teach the children the real life lessons that tennis has to offer. That it is possible, in sports as in life, to combine intense individual competition, honesty, honor, sportsmanship and most importantly friendship in a positive environment with positive outcomes.
One of Jackson’s students said “Coach Jackson is the best coach ever. He is patient. He encourages us. He makes sure we function as a TEAM. He is helpful. He is organized. I really enjoy playing with Coach Jackson and always try to play my best!” A parent describes him as someone with “enthusiasm, enthusiasm, enthusiasm.” They credit “the JTT program that Coach Tsai helps to administer as one of the main reasons that the kids have remained in junior tennis - Jackson does a great job!”
