Maryland Junior Points Race

USTA Maryland junior points race to determine Team Maryland.

The Maryland junior points race allows players to accumulate points throughout the year by entering and playing in USTA/Maryland Sanctioned junior tournaments. The top 3 players in each age division, boys and girls, are recognized at year end with an award at the annual luncheon. All players who qualify for the points race standings list will receive a participation t-shirt. To be eligible for the Maryland Junior points race a player must be a resident of Maryland and must participate in a minimum of three (3) tournaments, including at least one Maryland State Championship in the same age division with at least one match win.  Click here for current standings

How does the Points Race work?
When you play in a Maryland sanctioned tournament you will earn points for each round won. You will also earn participation points for playing in any Maryland State Championship.
Your best 6 Maryland tournaments will count towards your year long total. The season includes every match result from any Maryland Sanctioned tournament from January to September. (note: Sectional Challengers and Championships do not count towards the points race). Following the McDonogh Junior Open in September, all point totals will be final. As of that date the top three (3) players in each age division will be named to Team Maryland and honored at the annual USTA/Maryland District Luncheon in November.   Explanation of the points below.
