The 2010 Maryland Senior Points Race!
Play in any Maryland Senior tournament and accrue points for each round you win. At the end of the Season the top players will qualify for the 2010 Maryland Masters Cup Senior Championships!
The race will include all men's 65 and over age divisions in both singles and doubles.
The top 6 singles players and the top 4 doubles teams will qualify for the season ending tournament. (site TBD)
Maryland State Championships will award participation points and count the most for rankings.
Explanation of the points below.
Points System: players get points for the round they reach in State and Sectional Championships, in all other tournaments players get points for each match won. So if one tournament has a larger draw than another, you would get more points for winning the tournament with the larger draw. Maryland State tournaments award 50 participation points to all players. (You only need to play one Maryland tournament to appear on the rankings list but your best 3 tournaments will count towards your overall point total.)
Points Breakdown
The Maryland State Championships will count the most, followed by Sectional Championships held in Maryland, then followed by all other Maryland sanctioned tournaments.
