Mid-Atlantic Tri Level News!

We recently prepared a statement concerning Tri-Level tennis changing to 4 Tier Tennis (4TT). That document explained why BNP Paribas had made this change, and that we needed to comply with it so that our 2012 winning teams would be able to attend the 2012 BNP Paribas championships in Indian Wells, California in March of 2013. We have now received some very disturbing news. BNP Paribas has “changed their mind” and reverted back to Tri-Level tennis. Read More
 

Our Military Kids Receives $10,000 grant from USTA Serves

Our Military Kids is a national organization based in McLean, VA. that provides grants to children, between the ages of 3-18, of families in the Reserves, National Guard, and Wounded Warriors of all branches. The grants allow children to participate in tutoring programs and extracurricular activities such as tennis that they otherwise would not have access to. USTA Serves has awarded the organization a $10,000 grant that will help fund a portion of the 700+ tennis grants given each year. Read More
 

6th Annual Blacks in Wax - Friday, February 24th & Saturday, March 3rd

In celebration of Black History Month, the Recreation Wish List Committee (RWLC) in partnership with the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) will present the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center’s (SETLC) 6th Annual Blacks in Wax. Our first performance will be held at Southeast Tennis and Learning Center on Friday, February 24, 2012 from 7:00PM - 9:00PM. We are proud to again present our second performance at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, March 3, 2012.​ Read More
 

Junior Team Tennis Wildcard Invitational March 3 & 4, 2012

The invitational will be a one day event so that teams do not have to commit to the whole weekend. JTT is a co-ed sport and a team must consist of at least 3 boys and at least 3 girls. All players on team must play in at least 3 matches to be eligible to advance. Any player with 350 or more MAS points as of Aug. 31, 2011 must play in advanced division. Draws will be limited to the first eight entries in each age division. So don’t delay! Read More
 

USTA Maryland Staff Additions

We’re pleased to announce two additions to our Maryland staff starting January 1st. Barbara Linke is joining us as a fulltime community tennis coordinator with primary responsibility for Junior Team Tennis.
