Olympic Gold Medal Winner Gigi Fernandez Featured At USTA Maryland Awards Lunch

Two-time Olympic gold medal winner and #1 ranked doubles champion Gigi Fernandez will be this year’s special guest at the annual USTA Maryland Awards Lunch Saturday,  November 3. She also will host two doubles clinics following the lunch, so you won’t want to miss the opportunity to learn from an expert. 

This year’s host site for the lunch and Maryland Annual meeting is the Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center, 9571 Washingtonian Blvd., Gaithersburg, Maryland in Montgomery County. The lunch begins at noon and will be preceded by the annual meeting in the morning. Award nominations are being accepted now -- click here for the Award nomination form.  Doubles Clinic at LakewoodGigi

In 1992 and again in 1996, Gigi teamed with current USTA Fed Cup Coach Mary Joe Fernandez to win Olympic gold medals in doubles. Gigi, who retired in 1997 ranked #1 in the world in doubles, will lead a doubles clinic at Lakewood Country Club in Rockville - 2:00 to 3:30 P.M. Space will be limited and on a first-come, first-served basis so act quickly to sign up. From now until October 10th the cost per person for the clinic is $150.
